He is the author of three previous volumes of poetry, Reconstructing Memory: Black Literary Criticism, and editor of Black Culture Centers: Politics of Survival and Identity. Hord also co-edited a college text on Africana philosophy with Jonathan Scott Lee entitled I Am Because We Are.
