In this study, participants will walk through the purpose of marriage as the Scripture relates it and tackle topics such as family mission, sex, leadership, fighting, and forgiveness. (21:14)--In Session 1, Aaron and Jamie set the foundation for the Bible study by dealing with the question of "What is love?" They will point out that the word love has many connotations and meanings in our world, but that Scripture gives us the truest meaning--and defines the kind of love we're to have for our spouses.

Session 2: Placing Courage (20:18)--In this second teaching video, Jamie and Aaron help us understand how important it is for husbands and wives to encourage one another. They remind us that each of us, through our words and actions, has the power to place courage in our spouses. We're to see the best in them and be their biggest cheerleaders.

Session 3: Follow and Lead (17:39)--In Session 3, Jamie and Aaron provide personal and biblical insight on who leads and who follows in a marriage. They contend that marriage works best when the husband and wife first submit themselves to Christ and mutually submit their lives to each other.

Session 4: Fighting and Forgiving (18:48)--Aaron and Jamie will challenge us to fight for our spouses, not against them in the Session 4 video. They will show how not all conflict is bad. In fact, conflict dealt with in a spirit of forgiveness and with the end in mind can lead to growth in a marriage.

Session 5: Sex (19:01)--In this video teaching, Jamie and Aaron remind us that sex was designed and created by God for His purpose and our pleasure. But unfortunately, all of us come into marriage with sexual brokenness and baggage. They openly and honestly share their personal stories to help us see that despite our sexual past, God can and will restore our purity and sexual wholeness so that sex in our marriages can be extraordinary, purposeful, and life-giving.

Session 6: Mission (19:44)--In Session 6, Aaron and Jamie will point out that marriage is meant for so much more than just jobs, kids, house, and so forth. God has called us in our marriages to be on mission for Him. There is a greater purpose for bringing husbands and wives together--our marriages are meant to put the gospel on display.

Session 7: Closing Challenge (3:40)--Jamie and Aaron issue a brief closing challenge as they wrap up the study.

Book Synopsis

Does your marriage feel stuck in a rut?
