Book Synopsis

Bookstore manager and proud dog owner, Beth's life is full enough without romance. Lately, she's been catching feelings for the worst possible person- her best friend Jamie. She's determined to get over it, but will the cure kill the feelings or just their friendship? Anything but a Walk in the Park is the third in the Map of Madison series. It continues the story of the charming town of Madison, Georgia, and the people in it, but it can also stand alone as a women's fiction novel. Beth Everett has given up on finding true love. She's happy being single and has contented herself with her life filled with books and the lovable mini bull terrier, Mr. Darcy. Surrounded by weddings and new babies, Beth begins to question how happy she is with the life she's chosen. Worse, she's started having feelings for her best friend, a man she's sure doesn't see her in a romantic light. Determined to get over her feelings with minimal embarrassment, she keeps her distance. Jamie Radford works in an antique store and is working on his degree in Accounting. Bald, muscled, and tattooed, he doesn't necessarily fit into the world of antiques or accountants. In fact, the only place where he seems to fit perfectly is with Beth. Still, she's not interested in dating, and Jamie has been a serial monogamist. Having accepted his place in the friend zone, he's getting back into dating when Beth suddenly stops spending time with him. Jamie keeps trying to move on, but weddings and local events keep throwing them together. Can they find their way back to being friends, or will Beth's distance- and growing feelings- irrevocably change their relationship? As their story unfolds, we catch up with Seth and Libby from Left on Main, following their wedding as well as reproductive challenges. We also catch up with Dean and Lindy from Right on Walton as they explore their relationship, the challenges of parenting, and the dangers of his job. We further still see how sisters Presley and Layla have survived the turmoil from Right on Walton, setting readers up for the fourth book in the series. These stories unfold as the backdrop to the changes in Beth and Jamie's life. It's definitely Anything but a Walk in the Park.

About the Author

Crystal Jackson is a former therapist turned full-time writer.
