As a native whose family has been here since 1751, my thoughts on why Charlotte is a great place to live may differ from the newcomer's. I love Charlotte for its people. The area was first settled by forward-thinking, optimistic, hard-working and welcoming folk. Religious and highly independent people with a charitable bent shaped this town and region. Their fingerprints remain on our collective souls.</p>
