Written by one of the countries leading UFO researchers and academics Dan D. Farcas Ph.D provides a fascinating in sight into the UFO enigma in Romania. With almost fifty photographs and illustrations UFOs OVER ROMANIA is full of UFO data that has never been published in English before. The book begins with a brief look at a number of medieval paintings that some claim show UFOs. From that point on this book takes you step by step, decade by decade, through the annals of UFO research and investigation in Romania. UFO sightings, photographs, landing accounts, pilots sightings and even the thoughts on the UFO subject from a Romanian astronaut are all covered in this fascinating book. No type of UFO encounter is missed, in fact there are a number of close encounter cases in this book that may well be unique to Romania. This book has it all and is an excellent addition to the UFO literature and will be a credit to anyones UFO library. The book has already been well received as is evidence of quotes like this: Nick Pope (UK): MoD UFO Project, 1991 - 1994". An extraordinary book, packed with a wealth of fascinating detail on a vast number of cases, ranging from pilot sightings through to entity encounters. The wealth of detail makes this a valuable book for anyone with a serious interest in this subject.". UFOs OVER ROMANIA is indeed an extraordinary book and one not to be missed.

Review Quotes

Another much needed and long overdue regional study and in the English language!. Renown Romanian Ufologist Dan Farcas new book "UFOs over Romania" covers a region (country) with a rich history of unusual phenomena and "legends" i.e. Vlad the Impaler which the character Count Dracula was supposedly modelled after. UFOs have always been around Romania, however this was little known in the West, except for a few and far between cases which publications such as Flying Saucer Review and The APRO Bulletin made known. And this not for a lack of many well-qualified UFO researchers from that country top among them the late Calin Turcu which I was lucky to correspond with back in the late 90's.

Dan Farcas has done an excellent job in illustrating the rich Ufological history of his native country Romania, covering early cases (so-called pre-Arnold) which were indeed abundant in Romania, the extensive photographic evidence is also covered, landings, trace cases and most importantly various baffling Humanoid or CE3 cases, some known in the west, but most unknown.

And of he covers other aspects of the close encounter phenomenon such as bedroom visitations, abductions and many high-strangeness episodes. The folkloric and religious aspect is also expertly detailed. Important Romanian UFO Organizations, such as RUFORS, and ASFAN which are still active are also extensively. I highly recommend this essential Ufological masterpiece, is full of important necessary information.

Albert S Rosales

It is good to know, that Europe has a high volume of UFO sightings. We have of course language barriers here, so we don't always have the exact knowledge of what is happening in the skies of our neighbours. The main newspapers rarely document serious UFO research. It is therefore a great to know that we have now the possibility to read what is going on in Romania and in Poland . Thanks for this goes to Philip Mantle and his Flying Disk Press.

We know now that Romania has a rich history of reports on unidentified aerial phenomenon. It is worth to note hear hear that there are a number of very highly qualifying researchers in Romania. They have undertaken a lot of very thorough studies for several decades. As a result we can put a lot of trust in their work.

In the book UFOs Over Romania there is a great section which highlights military encounters with UFOs. There is a number of very reliable sightings from Romanian Air Force fighter pilots. They have radar, photo-graphic and eyewitness testimonies.

It is an easy book to read because there is clear order of cases from historical accounts through to present day. We can read about visits, contacts, abductions and folkloric, spiritual and the religious dimensions. It is a book where there is a rich variety of photos and illustrations to help supplement the manuscript.

It is good to see that the writer has put forward thoroughly his own take on the UFO phenomenon but he also gives the reader an opportunity to draw their own conclusions.

I recommend this book written by DanD Farchas PhD for anyone interested in the UFO subject and also for those who doubt the existence of UFO phenomenon.

Timo Koskenniemi, M.D., UFO-Finland
