He worked as a secretary, a mountain reporter for a local newspaper, the manager of a coal mine and a lumberyard, and attended law school, before becoming a journalist for Bob Taylor's Magazine-a job that led to his meeting steel magnate Andrew Carnegie in 1908, which changed the course of Hill's life. The record of that fateful meeting is preserved in <i>Think Your Way to Wealth</i>. What Hill learned that day from Carnegie formed the building block for his landmark works <i>The Law of Success</i> (1928) and <i>Think and Grow Rich</i> (1937). After a long and illustrious career as an author, a magazine publisher, lecturer, and consultant to business leaders, the motivational pioneer died in 1970 in South Carolina.
