He was the editor of Isaac Deutscher's <i>Russia, China and the West</i>, and the author of <i>Arabia Without Sultans</i>, <i> Threat from the East, </i> <i>Iran</i> and, with Maxine Molyneux, <i>The Ethiopian Revolution</i>.
