Through a broad thematic approach, the book presents around 130 works and previously unpublished material, providing the most comprehensive overview of her work ever published.</p><p><b>Sheila Hicks</b> was born in Hastings, Nebraska, in 1934 and received her BFA and MFA degrees from Yale University (where she studied under Josef Albers, and where Eva Hesse was a fellow student). She received a Fulbright scholarship in 1957-58 to paint in Chile. While in South America she developed her interest in working with fibers.
