He attended Central Grammar, Lake Charles High School, McNeese College, LSU and Southwestern Louisiana Institute and graduated in 1952 with a degree in business. John served two years as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean Intervention. He practiced public accounting as a CPA for forty years, retiring in 1995. Married Patricia H. Brown (Deceased) in 1952, the union bore five children: Martha. Thomas, Robert. Sarah, and James. Married Dr. Betty O. Mason (Deceased) in 1995 and Barbara L. Cox in 1999. John began writing poetry about ten years before retirement. JT's main interest are reading, writing, music, golf, traveling to the mountains and spending time on the beach.
