Al poco tiempo es elegido como Secretario General del Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil (DRE) organización que busca liberar a Cuba del totalitarismo castrista, pro-soviético. A los 21 años comanda un grupo guerrillero en la Sierra Maestra. En su primera noche de detención es sometido a un simulacro de fusilamiento en el campamento de Las Mercedes en la Sierra Maestra. Poco después es incomunicado en las celdas del Castillo de Santiago de Cuba. Gracias a muchas manifestaciones universitarias en América Latina no es condenado a muerte pero sufre el presidio político por 18 años. Este libro es una colección de cuentos que narran su vida y pensamiento. </p><p> </p><p>Alberto Muller was born in Havana on May 23, 1939. At the age of 19, he organized a student protest repudiating the visit to Cuba of Anastas Mikoyan, the Soviet leader who led the slaughter of the Hungarian people in 1956. Shortly after, he was elected as Secretary General of the Student Revolutionary Directory (DRE), an organization that seeks to liberate Cuba from pro-Soviet, pro-Castro totalitarianism. At age 21, he commanded a guerrilla group in the Sierra Maestra. On his first night in detention, he was subjected to a similar shooting in the Las Mercedes camp in the Sierra Maestra. Shortly after, he was held incommunicado in the cells of the Castle of Santiago de Cuba. Thanks to many university demonstrations in Latin America, he is not sentenced to death but suffers political imprisonment for 18 years. This book is a collection of stories that narrate his life and thoughts. </p>
