She loved her school and her church, made many friends, and never wavered from her goal of becoming an elementary school teacher herself. After graduating from Sharon Hill High School in 1949, she attended and in 1953 graduated with honors with a B.S. from West Chester State Teachers College (now West Chester University). That same eventful year, she married Dick Morris of nearby Collingdale, just across the railroad tracks. She taught in the Springfield and Marple-Newtown school systems, retiring in 1993. And as she has often said, The rest is history. Here it is.Born and christened Franklin Richard Morris in early January 1932, Dick grew up in the boro of Collingdale, PA. He graduated high school in 1949. The next few years were turbulent and life-changing. Through the ministry of the local Baptist church, in 1951, he met Christ as his Savior, many Christian friends, and finally a tall, lovely blonde named Jane. She was the entire inspiration for his growing up. They married in 1953 and had three children. Eventually, Dick was employed by Ford Aerospace Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 1994. With his wife's encouragement, Dick graduated with a B.S. from Drexel University's Evening College in 1964. He agrees that if only for their own memories, they should write all this down. So they did.
