Locations, loves, lessons-everything changed. </em></p><p><br></p>In the last decade, the song of how this Black woman held it down and held on became a battle-cry instead of a lullaby. Those years, these poems chased/birthed/illuminated changes I wasn't always ready for. But I knew this was true journey, so I breathed deep, bound my wounds, and kept moving.
