<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Book </b></p></br></br>My early life as a Sharecropper's son was a hard life. Having been born during the Great Depression and with World War II right after, sharecroppers were about as poor as they could get. <p/>Wealthy people were losing most of their wealth and some lost it all. Being so poor what did sharecroppers have to lose? The only way you could go with your life was to go forward. Sharecroppers were about as poor financially as they could get.<br>I was born on December 2, 1935. In the year 12-07-41, our President Roosevelt announced over Dad's old Philco Battery Radio that Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor. This was on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. He said thousands of people lost their lives and many ships were destroyed. <p/>Scratching out a living and raising a family was hard for everyone. Living conditions and having enough to eat was a challenge. This was a way of life for most people back then with nothing to compare it to,<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br>My life has been an exciting journey. Born in the Great Depression and being raised up on a Sharecropper's farm in Johnston County, North Carolina, I can remember how poor everybody was. As time and years past me by, I can look back into those years. <p/>Now I was a young adult. I could see my future, so I made up my mind that there was a better way of life for me. I have been cautioned not to fall into a trap where I could not get out. The more I looked back at the past, the more I stride to become somebody that I could be proud of. <p/>In those early years I became a hard worker with a good mind to go with it. I determined that someday there would be a better life. I must not let it slip by. Now is the time to prove to myself what the future holds for me. It is what I do right that will make the difference.
