It derives most directly, however, from clinical experience. This theory is, I think, in the functionalist tradition of James and Dewey. It is fused with the holism of Wertheimer, Goldstein, and Gestalt Psychology, and with the dynamics of Freud and Adler.</p><p><br></p>
