This MEINL Sonic Energy Harmonic Art Handpan is a handmade percussion instrument, crafted one at a time using top-grade German steel. MEINL chose this material for both its ability to be worked by hand and its strength to hold precise tuning. Each handpan is tuned with a center note and seven additional notes. This model is tuned to D, A, A#, C, D, E, F, A. The eight notes allow the player to work within a musical scale, both as a solo instrumentalist and with a group. The Harmonic Art Handpan produces clear and pure notes when struck by hand. The tone is pleasing, soothing and relaxing. It can be used in a variety of settings for both performance and therapy. This instrument is at home in an orchestral hall, a street busking trio or a yoga class—the ethereal sounds of the handpan can bring a peaceful vibe wherever the player goes.
