Merlot, Napa Valley Appellation, 2009 Family owned. Sustainably farmed. Rutherford Hill is a Terlato Family winery whose ambition is to produce great wines. For our Merlot, we adopted a centuries' old winemaking technique. First used in the 18th century, the technique calls for the addition of syrah to the blend. Together with the merlot, winemaker Marisa Taylor Huffaker included cabernet sauvignon for structure, cabernet franc for aromatics and the syrah for body, character and heft.
