This unique magnum sized duck-shaped decanter has a funnel-like neck for pouring wine in and a wide body that allows for excellent oxidation. Comes from the Vinum Extreme collection by Riedel. Exposure to the air will awaken flavors and aromas in older wines and soften astringent flavors in young wines. When wine is oxidized, hosts can pour glasses through a narrow spout in the decanter's "tail." As with the majority of Riedel's fine wine glasses and accessories, this elegant decanter is mouth-blown of 24-percent full lead crystal, which shows wine's natural brilliance and clarity. The decanter stands 6-3/8 inches tall and holds Height: 52-7/8 ounces, which equals two bottles of wine. Decanting exposes the wine to more oxygen, thus allowing the bouquet to open up and mature, while the wines complexities are further enhanced. The process of decanting also allows any sediment to fall to the base of the decanter. Nobody knows Wine like Riedel from stemware to decanters, Riedel crystal is prized for it's quality and the way it enhances the enjoyment of fine beverages.
