For Hair Grasp a single strand of hair, as close to the base as possible, and gently pull out in the direction in which the hair grows. Cuticle Pusher: Soak fingertips in warm water. Push cuticle back into a square shape with the blunt end of the cuticle tool. The pointed end may be used to clean under the nail edge. Nail Clipper: Ideally, nails should be cut when wet for smoother edges and best results. Nails should be cut into an oval shape and extend slightly beyond fingertip to protect the sensitive area. This clipper is for fingernails only. Sapphire File: Nails should always be filed when dry to ensure smooth edges. Place the file under the nail edge at a slant and file in one direction only. Back-and-forth filing may cause cracking and splitting. For best results, nails should be filed into an oval shape following fingertip contour. Filing into a point weakens the nail.
