This cast iron skillet is suitable for use on the stovetop, in the oven, or out on the grill. It's removable handle lets you detach and place the pan onto a ripping-hot grill-grate or under your boiler and re-attach it for safe, oven-mitt-free retrieval. There's even a heat-resistant tray included, letting you serve your sizzling entree at the table immediately from the cooking surface. Made from thick cast iron, the grill pan tool will last for decades with regular seasoning. The Napoleon Professional Cast Iron Oven/Grill Skillet is not pre-seasoned and will need to be washed, then coated with oil or shortening and baked in a 350-degree oven for an hour prior to use. This will allow the surface to develop its hardy non-stick coating. Apply additional layers of seasoning as needed.
