His graphic novel, Tir Na Fuil Volume 1: A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall, won a bronze medal in the 2017 Independent Publisher Book Awards alongside fellow award winners and pop culture icons Stan Lee and William Shatner.Artist Jochem Van Gool is a traditional animator, who also works as a character designer/illustrator. When he graduated film school in 2012, he started of his career by working in several Belgian animation studios. In early 2018, he moved to Madrid to work as the lead character animator on Netflix's first animated feature film 'Klaus', by SPA studios. His work was a major reason for Klaus being nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and winning a British Academy Film Award for Best Animated Film in 2020.
