My name is Lem Lewis and this book was created for you. Its origin stems from a series of lectures I gave for several churches in my community. I am constantly asked for financial advice and especially by people of modest means who understand that they need to be saving and investing more, but quite frankly don't know how. I am from humble beginnings. My father was a factory worker and my mother cleaned homes. A lot of what is in this book I learned from them. Along the way, I was fortunate to get an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Masters in Business Administration ( MBA) from the University of Virginia. I have been a licensed investment advisor, served on the boards of 3 Fortune 500 companies and was Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. What I learned from these experiences is that certain basic principles, certain behaviors, and certain outcomes are the same whether they are practiced by large corporations or regular people.
