Book Synopsis

In her newest book Three Sisters Garden, Sandy Baker follows the recipe of her previous children's gardening books by combining adorable characters, charming illustrations, and a fun story line. Cara, Sara, and Bari plant corn, squash, and beans, much like Native Americans have for centuries. Sandy weaves in gardening information to complete this compelling and educational book that young students, parents, and teachers alike will appreciate. The book is 32 pp, 8"x10" full color, soft cover and includes a glossary, great recipe for a delicious and hearty one-pot Three Sisters meal, and information about the original American Indian style of Three Sisters gardening with corn, squash and beans.

About the Author

Two of Sandy Baker's passions are writing and gardening--she combines those into children's gardening books, having also been inspired by her 15 years as a Master Gardener. Her habitat coloring book, Color My Garden and Colorea Mi Jardin, is in both English and Spanish. Her other titles include Mrs. Feeny and the Grubby Garden Gang, Zack's Zany Zucchiniland, The Dead Butterflies Diary, and Howie's Hungabird Dilemma. She is VP of Redwood Writers and co-chaired its 2014 conference. Sandy and her husband live in the garden paradise of Sonoma County, California! (It's Wine Country, too!)
